Template:Archive

From Void Linux Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Purpose

Mark a page for archiving, i.e. keep around for historical purposes but do not edit anymore.

Usage

This template is to be added at the beginning of articles that should be considered for archiving. Explain your reasons with the first argument, possibly extending your thoughts in the discussion page.

The basic syntax is

{{Archive|reason}}

You can override the default discussion page with a second, optional argument:

{{Archive|reason|Alternative page}}

Alternatively you can point to a specific section in the default talk page with the named section parameter:

{{Archive|reason|section=Section name}}

Pages marked with this template are automatically added to Category:Pages marked for archiving.

Technical note

The talk page is linked through an external link to avoid polluting Special:WantedPages when the talk page does not exist.
