Template:Expand

From Void Linux Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Purpose

Request an article (or a specific section) to be expanded with more information.

Usage

Add this template at the beginning of articles or sections lacking in detail. Ensure to cite specific concerns with the first argument; optionally you can also point the reader to a newly created section in the talk page, or somewhere else.

The basic syntax is

{{Expand|reason}}

You can override the default discussion page with a second optional argument:

{{Expand|reason|Alternative page}}

Alternatively you can point to a specific section in the default talk page with the named section parameter:

{{Expand|reason|section=Section name}}

Articles marked with this template are automatically added to Category:Pages requiring expansion. If knowledgeable on the subject at hand, users are encouraged to participate in expanding the article or section as appropriate and then removing the {{Expansion}} template when finished.

Technical note

The talk page is linked through an external link to avoid polluting Special:WantedPages when the talk page does not exist.
