Template:Out of date

From Void Linux Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Purpose

A template to mark outdated content and request an update or any other suitable action.

Usage

This template should be added at the beginning of articles or sections containing outdated information. Ensure to cite your specific concerns with the first argument; optionally you can link to an specific section in the talk page, or somewhere else.

The basic syntax is

{{Out of date|reason}}

You can override the default discussion page with a second optional argument:

{{Out of date|reason|Alternative page}}

Alternatively you can point to a specific section in the default talk page with the named section parameter:

{{Out of date|reason|section=Section name}}

Articles marked with this template are automatically added to Category:Pages with outdated content. If knowledgeable in the subject at hand, users are encouraged to participate in updating the article. The {{Out of date}} flag should be removed after correction of dated information.

Technical note

The talk page is linked through an external link to avoid polluting Special:WantedPages when the talk page does not exist yet.
