From the awesome website:

awesome is a highly configurable, next generation framework Window manager for Xorg.

$ xbps-install awesome

Awesome default configuration uses Xterm as a terminal emulator. It is advised to install it before running your graphical environment to help the configuration.

Awesome can be started from a Display manager or by adding at the end of your .xinitc :

exec awesome

Awesome configuration is made in lua and must be placed at ~/.config/awesome/rc.lua. A sample is provided at /etc/xdg/awesome/rc.lua

Configuration information can be found in Awesome's documentation
