Installation

Intel

 # xbps-install -S intel-ucode 

Make sure that /etc/dracut.conf.d/intel-ucode.conf contains early_microcode=yes

Finally reconfigure linux kernel. (This only has to be done the first time you install the ucode)

 # xbps-reconfigure -f linux_xx_xx

AMD

# xbps-install -S linux-firmware-amd-<date>

AMD CPUs will automatically load the microcode, no further configuration is required.
