Purpose

A flag used to mark pages proposed or scheduled for redirection to others.

Usage

This template should be added at the beginning of articles being considered for redirection to another article. Ensure to cite specific concerns with the second argument and possibly also on the flagged article's discussion page:

{{Redirect|Target article|reason}}

You can override the default discussion page with a third optional argument

{{Redirect|Target article|reason|Talk:Page#Redirect discussion}}

Alternatively you can point to a specific section in the default talk page with the named section parameter:

{{Redirect|Target article|reason|section=Section name}}

Flagged pages can be found in Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Redirect or in Category:Pages flagged with Template:Redirect. Users are encouraged to participate in redirection discussions or simply complete the operation (if sensible). The {{Redirect}} flag should be removed when the redirect is implemented, or if the proposal is rejected.

Note: The talk page is linked through an external link: this is to avoid polluting Special:WantedPages when the talk page does not exist.

Example

{{Redirect|Template:Redirect|This is just a demonstration template.}}

File:Tango-emblem-symbolic-link.pngThis article is being considered for redirection to Template:Redirect.

Notes: This is just a demonstration template. (Discuss in Template talk:Redirect#)
